Strategic Emphasis

Approximitly

70% of the effort will focus on sustaining and strengthening UWC’s existing core areas.

15% will be directed at building momentum around new capabilities within these established strengths.

15% will explore innovative opportunities and address underdeveloped areas with future potential.

This approach ensures a balanced response to UWC’s current strengths and evolving context. It supports institutional resilience, agility in the face of sector-wide changes, and alignment with UWC’s evolving identity.

Setting the Context

The development of the IOP 2026–2030 is informed by a series of interlinked and reinforcing processes, each contributing a unique lens on UWC’s trajectory and role. These include Strategic Dialogues, surveys, expert inputs, policy analysis, and structured engagements at multiple institutional levels.

Rather than a linear progression, the process is intentionally iterative and organic. Thus, allowing themes to evolve, insights to deepen, and the final plan to reflect a collectively forged vision rooted in UWC’s values and mission.

This synthesis of engagement, evidence, and strategic foresight is what gives the IOP its relevance, resilience, and responsiveness in a rapidly shifting higher education landscape.
